Banana Bread

Banana bread has very likely existed in various forms since ancient times. The ancient Greeks infused breads with various fruits and had been aware of the existence of bananas since Alexander the Great returned from India in the 4th century BC. Given this long lineage, it is surprising that banana bread as know it today is a relatively recent creation. The origins of the modern form of banana bread are believed to have stemmed from the poverty-stricken American women of the Great Depression
