  • About

Mille-feuille means ‘a thousand layers or leaves’ in English. The name is a perfect description of this gâteau. Classically it consists of layers of puff pastry and rum-flavoured crème pâtissière. The gâteau was created by French pâtissier, Rouget. The dale of its creation is uncertain, however the first recipe was published in 1807. By 1867, the gâteau was established as a firm favourite in France.
