This is spaghetti and meatballs, Italian style. Polpettine (“little meatballs”) are less common in America, but I have long been a big fan, because you get the complete meatball flavor in each bite. The tomato sauce is different too: instead of being bright and fresh like the Pomodoro Sauce, it is cooked down, so it’s heartier and more savory. Maccheroni is similar to spaghetti but thicker, which allows it to stand up to the bold flavors of the sauc
