Lorry Food One

Lorry Food, I should explain, is my nickname for the cuisine of some of Iran’s greatest chefs – its lorry drivers. The first time I became aware of this unlikely fact was one winter night as we unloaded our first ever truck of dates from Iran. Unloading a lorry when you are self-employed and have no staff is no joke: you have to bully and cajole all your friends, neighbours and family into helping, and still it just seems to go on hour after hour, case after case. At about one in the mornin
