The Iranian style of eating is generally more conducive to comfort and social exchange than our somewhat stuffy Western habits. Nothing better exemplifies this fact than our favourite fried eggs.

As we learnt in the last chapter, the real name for Persepolis is Takhte-Jamshid – the ‘throne of Jamshid’. Jamshid was a powerful priest-king way back at the dawn of Persian legend; he is also the current proprietor of the Peckham branch. The modern Jamshid has laid claim to this recipe as
