This at first seems quite the weirdest dish; in fact it remains so at second and third...that is, if you have been raised on Ready Brek. But it is utterly delicious, and combines a double-whammy of comforting carbohydrate with the culinary hug that chicken soup gives you.

In Iran it is eaten as a hearty breakfast; it is in fact so satisfying that it also great for lunch or supper, and in very tiny doses would make a great dinner-party starter. Three points to note: first, most Irani
