Pecan Pie

One of my pet peeves in life is the faux pecan pie. You come to the end of a fantastic meal, order a slice of pecan pie, and all you get is a single layer of pecans sitting atop a mattress of corn syrup and egg custard. It leaves everyone oh so unfulfilled.
