Black Plum Tart

Few desserts live forever in my mind, but the combination of black plums and anise shown to me in a simple tart well before I opened CakeLove has lingered in my memory. I can’t even remember where I had it, but my longing for the flavor is still with me. Sadly, I don’t get a chance to serve it often since most people don’t really care for anise. It’s optional, but if it was just for you and me, I would include it.

I recommend using the shortbread crust. Because plums are very
