I’m a big fan of orange paired with chocolate. I experiment with these two flavors frequently at CakeLove. They complement each other very well, and this is especially apparent in a tart—it’s just easier to appreciate their flavors without the dominance of cake or buttercream.

Ingredients

Bittersweet chocolate, chopped 2 cups (12

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and set a rack in the middle.
  2. Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl with the vanilla and liqueur.
  3. Combine the sugar and cream in a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
