You can raise your eyebrows all you like, but my girls love me for this breach of culinary etiquette. I see it as a healing dish. I’m sure many a family rift is forgiven over a pan of melted chocolate. To really pimp it up, I have added just a touch of chilli. The smoked, buttery edge that the fried Scotch bonnet provides works beautifully in sweet dishes such as this – especially with chocolate.
