The Margherita

So there’s a story you hear about Queen Margherita, with the idea that this pizza looked like an Italian flag. Did the pizza come first? Did the flag come first? Did the queen come first? I mean, come on, no one really knows if this happened. People didn’t write about food the same way then—they were happy to not be dying, or in a war or something—and unless some letter laying everything out explicitly is discovered, the truth is lost.
