  • About

There’s no more nostalgic and important ingredient for me. My great-grandmother Lena cooked every meal when we stayed with her, and made bread every time. If it went stale, it was made into breadcrumbs. They went into pasta and sauce and on pizza. Breadcrumbs mean a lot to Sicilians and have religious connotations, but to me, they represent the idea of valuing the time it takes to make a beautiful dough and to turn it into bread that should never just get thrown away.
