Mulled cider is as much about drinking as it is a seasonal potpourri for your home, the perfect mood-setter for family gatherings. I chose my favorite winter fruit, the persimmon (the fuyu is best for sweetness as the other common type, hachiya, can be a bit astringent) to complement the traditional apple. You can also substitute with a winter pear (like bosc or d’anjou) if it’s easier to find or your preference.
