Grilled bread turns up all along the world’s barbecue trail, often served as an appetizer, almost always hot off the grill. Italy has two great grilled bread appetizers: crostini and bruschetta. Crostini come with toppings; bruschetta tends to be served by itself (contrary to the way bruschetta is served in North America).
