It’s pretty hard to top the combination of potatoes and bacon especially when they’re grilled. Which brings me to one of my favorite Armenian restaurants in Moscow, the appropriately named and picturesquely decorated Yerevan (Yerevan is also the capital of Armenia). Of all the grill cultures of the former Soviet republics, Armenians show the most enthusiasm for vegetables. If you’ve never before grilled potatoes, these smoky, earthy kebabs are a fine place to start.
