Pike and carp are two types of fish commonly found in traditional Polish fish recipes because of their availability in the Baltic Sea. However, any firm, white fish fillets will work well, including cod, haddock, tilapia, sea bass, thicker flounder, and catfish. Sole, though, is not recommended because it’s usually sold very thin.

  • 3 tablespoons melted butter, divided

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sauté the onions in 2 tablespoons of butter until lightly browned. Add the mushrooms and continue to sauté until tender. Place the onions and mushrooms in the bottom of a casserole dish. Arrange the fish over the mix. Season with salt and pepper. Sp
