A fondue is, if you think about it, a one-pot meal, and this particular dish was always part of my youth. Fondues were great fun because every time you dropped your bread into the pot, you either had to buy a bottle of wine or kiss the man sitting next to you. In my case, the bottle of wine always seemed rather more attractive than the man beside me. This particular version of the fondue comes from Édouard de Pomiane
