Given the current favor shown toward so-called health breads made with whole grains and multiple grains, plain white bread and rolls seem to have dropped in rank to secondary status lately. Whole grain purists refuse to eat white bread, rationalizing that the nutritious part of the wheat kernel has been milled out, and there is some truth to that argument. There are times, however, when only buttery white bread or rolls will do. It may go against today’s trend for the rustic and hearty type
