Strawberry-Rhubarb Tart

The combination of tangy rhubarb and sweet strawberries is not only delicious, but also looks pretty framed with dough strips in a diamond pattern. The cornmeal crust adds a robust flavor to this country-style tart. Short dough could be used as well, however, flaky pie dough lacks the sweetness needed. The use of cornstarch and pectin helps to keep the crust from getting soggy from the fruit juices, as does the almond meal (go ahead and use cake crumbs if necessary). It is of utmost importa
