Bark is one of the fastest and easiest types of candy to make. It does not require any special equipment, the individual pieces are not dipped, and the recipe can be varied to suit the ingredients you have on hand. You may substitute other types of nuts, chocolate, and candied fruit, using the same quantities called for here, to create other flavors. One tasty and colorful combination is white chocolate with toasted cashews, pistachios, candied lemon peel, and candied cherries. Another is sweet dark chocolate with toasted hazelnuts and candied orange peel.
