This recipe can be made with any type of nut you have on hand, or you can use a combination; the macadamia version is my personal favorite. Chopping the nuts coarsely, as directed, makes the finished toffee easy to break into small pieces. If you leave the nuts whole, however, the candy has a more elegant appearance and is especially attractive for presenting in a whole slab.
