This is one of the Western World’s most popular cakes, and for good reason. Schwartzwalder Kirsch Torte is as delicious as the Black Forest (located in the Swabia region of Germany) is beautiful. If you do not find one of these cakes in any pastry shop there (or anywhere in Germany, for that matter), it’s a good bet that they have just run out. Each shop seems to make its own version; some add rum to the cherry filling, others use a light sponge cake instead of chocolate, and still others u
