To many people, waffles are associated only with breakfast, but I think you will find that this crisp, light waffle paired with cream and apple jam makes a tempting dessert. That is, unless you have to face the combination every day for two weeks in a row, as my colleagues at the lunch table did when I first starting making this waffle recipe again.
