Banana–Poppy Seed Ice Cream

I am surprised that this flavor combination has not made its way into the commercial marketplace. Many years ago, a friend gave me this recipe; he said it had been in his family for quite some time. This ice cream goes with just about any dessert, but I particularly like it served with fresh strawberries or strawberry sauce.
