This vibrant, orange jam tastes rich and zesty and has a soft, spreading consistency. It isn’t too sweet and tastes good spread on toast as well as muffins and pancakes. It can even be used in a chicken or turkey sandwich in the same way as you would use chutney.

  1. Put the carrots, lemon and orange zests and juices, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a preserving pan. Add 875 ml/30 fl oz/
