This dough is my go-to all-purpose dough. It makes a nice pie and isn’t too sweet for a savory pot pie. It can be used to make kolache by folding a bit of jam into the center of cookie-size pieces. It is also foolproof because there is no tricky addition of water, only two fats that insulate the wheat proteins, making overworking (and thereby toughening) the dough less likely.
