In restaurants, I like a constructed dessert. One last plate of food to delight before the diners make their way into the night. At home, I like lazy desserts, ones where I can put out a couple of plates of sweet things and let guests build their own bites as we wind down a meal—some slices of apple, a stack of graham crackers, some sauce to bind them together. Something for my friends to linger over and stay a bit longer.
