As I’ve said, I’m not a natural baker. I like lending my energies to elaborate desserts for special occasions, but it isn’t what comes naturally to me, and elaborate desserts aren’t what I crave to end most meals. This is my sort of dessert: dead simple and infinitely riffable. If you don’t have pistachios, hazelnuts, pine nuts, or even sesame seeds would make good swaps. If you’re not into honeycomb brittle, a crumble of dry meringue would work well too. Already have a bit of citrus syrup
