  • About

My wonderful sister Linda fell in love with this sweet treat at Indra, her neighborhood Thai restaurant in Glendale, California. Two small pans were perfect divvied amongst our happy family entourage. Maw gaeng is the specialty of Petchaburi, the sweets capital of Thailand, located en route to Hua Hin and other seaside destinations along the Gulf of Siam. There it is made with mung bean centers or taro root, but sweet potato, acorn squash, and butternut squash also make delicious versions.
