This is a simple recipe, using roughly one part water to two parts chocolate by weight.

Ingredients

  • 200 g real dark chocolate
  • 100 g water

Method

Chop the chocolate. Boil the water in a heavy pan, then add the chocolate to the boiling water, whisking all the time, and being careful not to burn it. It should be a thick glossy sauce, with a perfectly smooth consistency. Serve with vanilla ice-cream or anything else.

Variation

For a spicy chocolate sauce, stir in a pinch each of ground cardamom and ground chilli.
