Dukkah is an Egyptian spicy mix of nuts – commonly hazelnuts – and seeds, but each region and indeed Middle Eastern country have their own blend or version. The name ‘dukkah’ means ‘to crush’ or ‘to pound’ in its native Egyptian, and this aromatic blend is delicious spread onto flatbreads or used as a dip after dipping bread into olive oil first..
