Brown Bread Ice Cream

Brown bread shows up at all sorts of meals. But a few years ago, clever pastry chefs figured out how to put it on the dessert table, too: Brown Bread Ice Cream. The ice cream is sometimes flavored with Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur, but you don’t need that in order to experience the joy of this unique dish. You don’t even need real Irish soda bread! Just toast coarse, whole wheat bread crumbs with a little brown sugar and stir them into softened vanilla ice cream (with a little Bailey’s, if
