This is another food that is consumed throughout the British Isles, not just in Ireland, but it’s definitely a favorite in Ireland, served with sliced ham or boiled bacon. It’s a creamy white sauce made of white breadcrumbs and milk that’s been infused with onion, cloves, and bay leaves. The flavor is subtle but no less potent for that. Bread sauce is common enough that you can buy it in packets, but there’s nothing like the homemade version. Be sure to us
