I find it very interesting that this soup is typical of Triora, that town in the province of Imperia that supposedly has been a hideout for witches since ancient times. I wonder whether this soup gives the witches their staying power or if the normal citizens eat it to have some breathing room from the witches. Whatever the reason, this is a wonderfully healthful brew.
