Spanish men like to find traditional dishes in their favourite tapas bar. These tasty meatballs in tomato sauce are usually served in little brown, individual casserole dishes, accompanied by crusty bread. They make a good supper, too, with a green salad or pasta.

Ingredients

  • 225 g/8 oz minced (ground) beef
  • 4 spring onions (scallions), thinly sliced

Method

  1. Put the minced beef in a bowl. Add the spring onions, garlic, Parmesan and thyme and plenty of salt and pepper.
  2. Stir well to combine, then shape the mixture into 12 small firm balls.
