In Malaysian homes, there is always a bottle of chilli sauce handy for enjoying with snacks or meals! This homemade chilli sauce goes well with almost anything! Try it with the keropok lekor.

Ingredients

  • 225 g (8 oz) sugar
  • 500 ml (16 f

Method

  • Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes to an hour, or until the sauce is thick and sticky.
  • Discard the garlic and set aside to cool. Store in a clean glass jar. The sauce will keep for months in the refrigerator.
