Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes to an hour, or until the sauce is thick and sticky.
Discard the garlic and set aside to cool. Store in a clean glass jar. The sauce will keep for months in the refrigerator.
