A pile of crispy chicken wings, a bowl full of mielies and some condiments on the table make for a great let’seat-with-our-hands family meal. The crispy spiciness of these oven-baked paprika and white pepper chicken wings is a great alternative to the sweet sticky wings most people know.

Ingredients

  • 14 chicken wings
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon

Method

  1. Take each chicken wing and pull it from tip to end to stretch it out. While stretching, slice through the wingtip joint bone, removing the tip. Make sure the wings are bone-dry.
  2. Dip the wings into a spicy mixture of baking powder, salt, smoked paprika, white pepper and nutmeg.
