Banana Bread

Our mother taught my sister Carmen how to make her banana bread when we were children. I would mush the bananas with a fork to help, but baking banana bread became my sister’s thing. For a long time, in my teenage years, I was all about the bread. I would eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches dipped into my coffee for lunch, and then afterwards I would eat slices of banana bread with butter on for dessert.
