My wife makes an amazing potato salad. She learned how to from her mother. She uses condensed milk, which adds a wonderful sweetness to the salad. It’s a very Afrikaans thing to do, this adding of condensed milk to potato salad, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. People tend to get very snobbish about food and what they consider to be ‘proper’ ingredients, and that really annoys me. I believe that if you like the taste, then the ingredients are right for the dish.
