This is adapted from a much-beloved recipe from my late Aunt Sharon, given to me by her dietitian daughter, Julie, who also loves to bake.

Ingredients

Batter

  • cups all-purpose flour

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line with parchment paper or grease and flour 2 (8x4-inch) loaf pans or 1 (12x4-inch) loaf pan.

To make batter, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium-size bowl. In the bowl of a stand-up electric mixer, beat brown sugar, buttermilk,
