Traditionally, achars, or pickles, are prepared annually when the fruit is in season. Methia nu achar literally means pickled fenugreek. But it is the mango that takes the centre stage.

Methi is a key ingredient and has an acquired taste. Strong and pungent, the whiff and flavour can pack quite a punch. It is something we picked up from our Indian-Gujarati heritage.
