Artichoke paste makes an unusual and delicate spread for crisp toast or crackers. If the paste is already made, it can be used to make an impromptu hors d’oeuvre. The flavor of the paste is delicate, so the flavorings should be fairly mild.
Broil or toast the bread, if you’re using it, on both sides; then brush with olive oil. Spread the paste over the top and garnish with the chopped herbs and pepper.
