Raisin squares are a treat my grandmother always made for her family in California for the winter holidays. Two moist layers of raisins cooked with lemon are sandwiched between thin layers of pastry. The pastry on top should be thin and crisp, generously dusted with sugar and cinnamon. They go wonderfully with a pot of Earl Grey tea.
