This romantic floral custard is scented with an infusion of violet petals, round husky coriander seeds, pieces of cinnamon bark, and blood orange or lemon zest. If you want the flavor of violets, one thing is certain: handfuls of violets are needed. Even a hundred violets make only 5 tablespoons of petals, just enough to impart their perfume. But violets spread energetically throughout a garden, so the possibility of harvesting a hundred blossoms is not at all preposterous.
