This is a brilliant alternative to a traditional Scotch egg. Incidentally, a Scotch egg is not of Scottish origin – the humble food has a murky and confusing past, with claims to its invention coming from Fortnum & Mason and the British Army, and even possibly a butcher in Yorkshire. Some say it has a connection to Indian cuisine! But one thing’s for sure – it is not Scottish.
