I think that hot smoked salmon actually works better than the traditional tuna Niçoise. The flavour from the smoked salmon is incredible. Warming up the salmon first really changes the eating experience and lifts the smokey flavour all through the dish. Shop-bought hot smoked salmon is easy to find but it is worth giving it a go yourself. There is a brilliant recipe.
