Rumbledethumps must be the best name of any classic Scottish dish. It comes from how it is made – rumbled means mixed, and thumped means bashed, and that’s exactly how it is made: by being mixed and bashed.
This is a super easy dish. It’s basically a Scots version of the Irish colcannon. There is also a version using kale, called kale-cannon.
