Digestives get their distinctive flavour from adding wholemeal flour along with the oats and the use of dark soft brown sugar which gives a hint of caramel to the biscuit. Their crunchy texture is in perfect balance with the thick layer of dark chocolate covering the top. You may have eaten these from the supermarket, but I promise – homemade is always best.
