Ingredients

  • water
  • lemon

Method

Take three-quarters of a pound of fine sugar, put it in a clear copper pan with two gills of water, put it on the fire, let it boil slowly, skim it, but don’t stir it; put in the juice of half a lemon, then let it boil brown; then take a spoon and try if it ropes; oil your mould and spin it on as
