Mrs. Macnab’s Scones¹

• flour
• butter
• salt
• bicarbonate of soda
• cream of tartar
• egg

Mix thoroughly a pound of flour, a teaspoonful of salt, a small teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda and two small teaspoonfuls of cream of tartar. Rub in two ounces of butter. Stir in gradually a beaten
